![]() Defending myself from attackers is now not Moral?! They lit me up as I was trying to exit the Hangar while exploring for supplies. About the only time I think I did, is when I was ambushed outside some supply Hangars. I went out of my way not to kill any, especially while infiltrating the Boss's area. However, Diram still left and according to the guides it's because I must have killed some Tribals. I'd say my bad, but fk those cultists, they killed off a ♥♥♥♥ load of innocent people.Īt the Volga I found Giul's picture, and rescued the Slaves trapped on the boat. I don't think I killed any more until I got to the Bridge with Duke, and I did try to stealth through, but I ended up merc-ing a bunch in the first section. Then killed off all the Paladin's there before leaving. Not killing your attackers? That's some BS.īasically, when I found out the Tsar-fish cultists were planning on killing me right there in that church, as well as the Mother and Daughter trapped there, I wrote them off. Then I looked it up and was pretty shocked, especially for a Metro game. I had no idea you could not lose Duke, or keep Diram, until the Taiga when I couldn't figure out why Olga kept calling me a Murderer. Yeah, also my bad, didnt mean to say volga, basicly the dudes near dam. It feels like there might be a quota on how many you can kill minimum and still keep good moral points. I will have to go on a crazy killing spree on slaves/pirates/locals etc in Caspian and Taiga levels to make up for it and hope that I can still get the bad ending. I got the good ending, now I'm trying to get the bad ending.ĭuke still survived. In the end, you will get what you deserve Try to get a better understanding of things before you make your judgement. There are both "good" and "bad" moral/karma points. These games always have shades of gray, but acting as Artyom's character would is generally a way to get the "good" ending (not exactly the canonical one), this is where reading books and playing prior titles can give you some insight. A clearly evil bas7ard is ready for the grave. Some people you encounter as hostile could just be misunderstood and you need to take the moral high ground. Look for journal pages and audio tapes for more insight on your current surroundings. On much of these games, you are the hostile invader unless you prove otherwise (mostly by sneaking/non-lethal). Hostile combatants are generally fine to kill unless you're killing them for the wrong reason. Sparing/saving certain people when given a choice can grant a karma benefit. Noble: Killing some people, like the innocent, injured, surrendered, or helpless, has a clear negative moral detriment. Inherently, he saves those in need.īasically, you want to act as Artyom's character would, which is mostly noble and curious (the good guy).Ĭurious: searching in areas and finding secrets/caches, listening to many conversions by friendlies, neutrals and hostiles alike. The karma system is not exactly what is "good" or "bad" but more about taking the actions that are canon to Artyom's nature. You don't have to play entirely non-lethal to get the good ending. ![]() ![]() I didn't do any side quests.ĭuring the final area I even overheard cultists talking about me as if I was a reasonable person who isn't bloodthirsty and as if I didn't harm them at the church even though I actually killed like 2-3 of them there.ĭuke still survived. Anna even made a comment about how she wished there was no bloodshed after stealing the boat from the church so I thought Duke was sure to die. I must have killed about 5-6 fanatics/cultists in total and pretty much every bandit (maybe 15-20 or so) on the way to the Aurora while using the train. In Volga mission I didn't go in full guns blazing since I was playing on iron mode so I was 100% stealthing, but I made sure to stealth kill a few fanatics while infiltrating the church, going for the boat and the final area where their leader makes a speech. I got the good ending, now I'm trying to get the bad ending.
